To celebrate the 200th birthday of Johanna Spyri, the author of Heidi, we created a very special anniversary edition together with the Heidiseum: the Heidi Heritage Bread Knife and the Heidi Heritage Oak Chopping Board.

Heidi, her grandfather, Peter the goatherd and his goats tell one of Switzerland’s most famous stories, motif by motif. All designs in the edition are inspired by historical Heidi drawings from the collection. One particularly special detail on the knife is the depiction of Heidi with the goat, based on the first known Heidi illustration by Friedrich Wilhelm Pfeiffer from 1880.

The historical originals belong to the Zurich Heidi Archive, which was added to UNESCO’s « Memory of the World » Register in 2023 together with the Johanna Spyri Archive.

The bread knife is handcrafted where Heidi feels most at home: in the mountains of Graubünden. Together with the rustic chopping board, the edition brings a small piece of Swiss cultural history to the table.
